If you haven’t already heard, there is a new ‘must see’ bar and restaurant in Liverpool. The Florist Liverpool really is a venue that has to be seen! It is one of the prettiest, nicest smelling places I have ever been to and I can’t wait to go back to sample some of the food they offer.
I was kindly invited to their launch party and I knew it was definitely going to stand out from the crowd when I received my invitation in the post. I was just expecting the usual card based invitation, boy was I wrong! This fancy package arrived on my doormat and my partner quickly asked what I had ordered. I had to think at that point, as I was sure that I hadn’t ordered anything recently, but I do sometimes forget these things! Well, on opening there was this white box with The Florist in gold leaf writing on the lid. I slid the box open and there was this fantastic acrylic invitation with dry pressed flowers inside. This is the best invitation I have ever received!
The Florist Liverpool is in the old School for the Blind building on Hardman Street. The building is stunning and offers a wide variety of rooms of all different sizes. This adds to how interesting the venue is and means they can accommodate a variety of needs. As soon as you walk into the building you are instantly met with these stunning blossom trees with lights hanging from the branches – indoors! There are flowers everywhere and it smells absolutely gorgeous. It is an Instagrammers paradise, there are photo opportunities all over the place and any photo will make your Insta feed look so pretty!
On arrival, we were given a drink straight away. I went for a Rhubarb in the Bloom cocktail. It was really tasty and I could have happily drank several of them! With a drink in hand, we were shown around so we knew where everything was. There were rooms connecting to more rooms, some small, some large. The small rooms are perfect for hiring out for a private meal or masterclass. There were masterclasses on throughout the evening, gin, ale and cocktail masterclasses. We attended the ale masterclass and got to try a variety of ales that we had never tried before and it was very informative. Unfortunately, I didn’t get to the gin one as the time flew by. I would definitely go back to try it though!
The bar was the lively area, due to all the amazing drinks they have on offer. There is a book, yes a book, to pick which drink you want to try. They are all very refreshing and are inspired by the principles of floristry, each drink is accompanied with its own special flowers, which is a nice touch. I had a Geranium and Lychee Cooler, this was so refreshing on a sunny day and was unlike anything I have had before. I also tried some of the gins they had on offer. Can’t go somewhere and not get a good old gin and tonic! The Peaches and Prosecco is a drink I would also recommend, especially when the days get a bit warmer. It would be lovely sitting outside with a cool Peaches and Prosecco.
There was also a chance to dabble in flower arranging during the floristry masterclass. This was fun and we got to take our masterpieces home with us, with a few extra flowers as well. This really brightened up my living room. We did a mini arrangement in jam jars with a cute ribbon attached. I was made up with mine and a jam jar is very forgiving, you can’t really go wrong!
They had a demonstration area where they showed you how to make goats cheese butter drizzled with honey and lavender to go with honey and lavender bread. This was the most amazing bread I have ever tried, I kept going back for more! I just couldn’t stop! I would go back just for this bread, it’s making me hungry just thinking about it! They also had sweet potato fries and polenta chips. They showed what seasoning to put on but I was a bit distracted by the bread! If you go I would recommend giving it a try, you won’t be disappointed!
If you are heading to Liverpool soon, make sure you have The Florist Liverpool on your to-do list. The place is stunning and I could just walk around with a drink in hand and take photos galore. Saying how gorgeous this venue is really doesn’t do it justice, it’s a place that has to be seen. In the evening they had a DJ and saxophonist and it really set the right ambience and makes the perfect setting for some evening drinks.
Here are a few more photos from the evening.
Have you been to The Florist Liverpool yet, or have you added it to your to-do list? I’d love to hear what you think about the place. I for one, can’t wait to go back and take some more photos, and enjoy some more cocktails!
