BareMinerals – My Favourite Foundation Right Now

I have not been using BareMinerals for as long as I wish I had.  I first got to try them when I bought a starter kit on my flight home from Mexico.  I had never really thought about wearing a powder foundation as I didn’t want that powdery look and for it to dry out my skin and just look generally patchy.  Well how wrong was I!  The Original Foundation from BareMinerals does not do any of those things at all, in fact you wouldn’t even know you were wearing a powder foundation or any foundation for that matter!

It is so easy to use.  I got a full flawless brush in my set which is what I always use to apply this foundation.  You tap out a small amount into the lid, then swirl the brush in it and tap on the side.  You then buff the foundation into the skin and it gives the most incredible flawless finish.  When I started using this everyone commented on how great my skin looked, I even got told at work that I looked airbrushed!  I fell in love with this foundation then!

I received the Medium Beige in my kit which I found worked as long as I used the Warmth all over face colour with it.  The Medium Beige was just slightly too pale for my skin.  So off I went to a BareMinerals counter to find out what colour I should be using.  I now use Medium Tan for my skin tone and it works really well for me.  I got slightly obsessed with BareMinerals and started searching everywhere to get it.  I got some really good bargains from Ebay, just be careful on which ones you buy as some people will try and sell fakes.

If you have not yet tried anything from BareMinerals then I strongly recommend you start with this foundation and see how you go from there, it is hands down the best foundation I have ever tried.  I also found that it lasted all day!  Most foundations don’t last that long on my skin and by the time I have finished work and got home, well I look a little worse for wear but with this on, my skin stays looking flawless.

Due to me working shift patterns and sometimes having to start work very early in the morning, I wanted to see if the READY Foundation range would be any quicker for me to apply in the mornings.  This is basically their loose foundation put into a compact.  You do need a different brush to apply this with, which you can see in the picture and this gives a medium to full coverage and then you just buff it into the skin.  I think I prefer the loose powder as it gives a slightly better finish but this is perfect for when I am in a hurry and it still gives great coverage.  As I use Medium Tan in the Original Foundation I was advised to use the R330 colour in the READY foundation.

You will need the Precision Face Brush for this foundation.  I got the retractable version so I can pop it in my makeup bag and take it with me.

I also love this eyeshadow collection ‘The Possibilities‘.  The colour Future is my favourite which you can probably see from the picture.  I use this daily and you can easily make a day or night look with this palette.

I then also got myself a bronzer/illuminizer duo, I just couldn’t resist when I saw it.  I haven’t used this as much as I have used the others though.  I find it really handy to have them both in the one compact.

I am so glad I actually bought the starter kit on the plane, even though it has given me a new obsession and another thing for my money to be spent on!!  This however really is worth the money and it lasts.  The pots of foundation should last around 6 months depending on how often you use it.  If you want a flawless look then I would say definitely try out the foundation if you get a chance.

I got more items from BareMinerals at Christmas and I now have some loose mineral eyeshadows.  I will write another post for them  when I have used them more.

Have you ever tried BareMinerals?? If so what is your favourite?

or are you considering trying them?  Let me know.
